In the high school unit, there is a sample language which requires you to guess at the meanings and uses of certain phrases and language we see throughout the interview. Please follow the language activities in the order that they occur in the packet.

Activity 1: Coming Up With Interview Questions

Azumi and Rie answered several questions for us in the interview, but something was missing--- the questions. Looking at their answers again, try to write the possible questions for those answers in Japanese.

Activity 2: Exploring the Vocabulary

After watching the videos, were there any words that you did not recognize? If there are, please write them down in Japanese, look them up in the dictionary, and write down their English meanings.

Activity 3: Dictation

In this activity, students will listen to the interview video of their choice and transcribe it as carefully and completely as they can.

Activity 4: Exploring the Grammar

While watching the videos, students will find the grammar patterns listed in the packet, try to guess at their meanings and functions, and write a few sentences using them.
